Hey fam! Good to hear from you as always. Hope things go good for you guys this week. This week was pretty good here for us. Yesterday was really good because my birthday package came! Haha We were really excited about all the food. And thanks for the ties and pictures and stuff. The ties are napakaganda! My companion loves them too haha.
We are actually here in Olongapo today. My companion had to get a checkup on his jaw that has been hurting him. So we get to do a little shopping in the big city haha. This is my companion's last week in the mission. Next Monday morning we take him to the mission home to head home. Next Tuesday is Transfer Day, so i will get my new companion that day. Until then i will either be tagging along with the Zone Leaders or at the Mission Home too. I'm not sure yet what will happen to me haha.
I still have no idea about calling home at Christmas. I will call from a members house again. We can get a calling card here that handles everything, so don't worry about it. They will probably be giving us the information of when we will be calling home in the next few weeks. So as soon as i know i will let you know ;).
Well this week i did try some more Filipino food. Last night i ate dinuguan. Yep. It wasn't the best, but it wasn't bad haha. We had it at the previous Branch President's house. We have more eatting appointments right now because everybody wants to feed my companion before he goes home haha. He has been in this area for 7 months.
Things went good this week in our teaching. We had Training here in Olongapo this last Wednesday again. Nothing really different happened in our teaching this week. Just normal as ever. Yesterday in Sacrament Meeting one of our investigators did get up and bare his testimony. I've told you about him before, Edwin Abejero. He should have been baptized a while back, but his parents are very inactive so it didn't happen. Then he was on a hike with the Young Men in the District and hurt his foot. He got a pretty big cut on his foot from a broken bottle. It was in the water and couldn't see it, and since he only had on flip flops he got him good. (People here only ever wear flip flops. They think it is so wierd we always wear shoes all the time in America haha) His family got mad about it and told him he couldn't come to church anymore. But he said he was still going to go. They told him they wouldn't give him his allowance, but he said thats okay, i'll get money some other way. We haven't been able to teach him these last few weeks because his dad doesn't like us coming there. But Edwin goes to Seminary everyday and is at church every week. And he is only 12 years old. Yesterday when he bore his testimony it was really good. He really started crying in it. He is so strong in the church. You'd think he grew up in the church, not just started coming a month or 2 ago. It was a really powerful testimony for me. He isn't baptized yet, but i know the day will come that his parents will either let him get baptized or he will finally be the age that he can be baptized anyway, 16. It is so amazing to be able to know that kid here.
I hope all goes well this week for you guys. Alam ko na totoo ang simbahan na ito. Alam ko po na walang-hangang ang mga pamilya. Alam ko po na totoo ang Aklat ni Mormon. Mahal na mahal ko po kayo. Magpatuloy na lang sa pagtitiis. I love you all, and God be with you till we meet again.
