Hello everybody! Life is good (and warm hehe) here in the Philippines. Sorry to here of all the snow you're having. Actually more sorry for all the track kids haha joke. It sounds like a good winter (or spring?) to not be home. This last week was amazing because of General Conference. The sessions were awesome! I have to say i got a surprise when i saw Mike Rees's mug as big as life in the Priesthood session hehe. I was not expecting that. It is always so amazing the listen to God's prophet and His apostles. A person can really learn a lot and see lots of things they need to improve. My favorite was either the Priesthood Session or the Sunday Afternoon session. They were so good. I have to say me and another elder here in my district had a few good laughs from President Monson's talk in the Priesthood session hehe. You'll just have to read it or listen to it on the internet to know why. And try to think in the mindset of a missionary hehe. But seriously, it all was really so amazing. You could really feel the power that Pres. Monson has as the prophet, seer, and revelator of God. Same with all the people that spoke. I think about all the years i just kinda slept through conference. I really missed so much. But i am so thankful to Mom and Dad who always made sure we listened. At least some did come in, some how. Its like one of the speakers said. You might not always remember what is said in family prayer, what was read in family scripture study, or the lesson in FHE, but you will remember that you had it. That is the most important in those things. It is so true. I'm thankful for your examples, Mom and Dad, in everything. You're amazing. In that way i've gained a love for the Ensign and that. Here it is the Liahona, a mix of all three. Whenever we don't get one from the mission, i have to borrow one from a member. And i always remember seeing Dad sitting there reading it on Sundays. Usually i was on the computer.
This week our week here was alright. We're still working a lot with members, and working to find new people to teach. We had one sweet moment this week with a less-active family. We've been going there weekly since i was transferred here. Sometimes twice a week. But the family hasn't come to church yet. And the Dad has a Word of Wisdom problem. But we went there on Friday and Sister told us they were going to come to church on Sunday. But we had to remind them that it was at the District Center, about a 40 min bus ride away. That is where we watch General Conference here. She didn't really say anything after that. But then on Sunday, my companion say the two of them, Brother and Sister, at General Conference! We were so excited! Now we just need to get them to church here at the branch on Sunday. It was great to see our efforts come to something. Some of our main investigators, the Atienza Family, is still doing all right. But they still have a ways to go and could use some prayers if you could send some their way. The daughter is really good, and the mom is progressing and come to church a couple times. But we could use some prayers for them all, Brother and the son too.
This last week we also had interviews with the Mission President. We usually have them every other month. But i think this may have been my last one with this mission president, because they are done in June and we will get a new Mission President. We still have no idea who it is, but word is that it is a Filipino again. So a little exciting to see what happens there in the future.
I'm not sure yet when we will be calling for Mother's Day. We haven't been told anything yet. I think we'll just do it like last time where i will text you and have you call me back. So you will probably want to get a calling card. I can't think of anything that i need here. Still doing really good. We haven't had any other earthquakes here. Things still going peachy hehe. Just remember that i know this church is true. I know it helps us overcome any challenge, if we let it and do the things we should. Its not free, and does take a little sacrifice, but it is so worth it in the end. I know the Book of Mormon is true and continue to challenge you all to read it. If we're too busy to read the Book of Mormon, it means we're too busy. I love you all so much, and God be with you till we meet again!
