Brad Pitt or Nicolas Cage

The question of the day is....."which one do you think Elder Brough looks the most like Brad Pitt or Nicolas Cage"?

The first picture below, Elder Brough maybe resembles Brad Pitt and in the second picture you can see similarities to Nicolas Cage. (If you use your imagination, and he IS in a PIT with a CAGE around him, maybe that counts) Oh and just for the record buddy, you are much better looking that either of those two!

"So for experiences this week. I don't know if i told you this or not, but my first week here i had one of the members tell me i looked like Nicholas Cage haha. And then yesterday at church one of the little girls told me i look like Brad Pitt hahaha. It was so funny. So now some of the kids here started calling me Brad Pitt as a joke haha. It is pretty funny. "

"So to answer a few questions. Transfers are this week. They are every 6 weeks. But nobody in my District is transferring. So i have the same companion, same house mates, and all for the next 6 weeks.........

So i tried shrimp paste this week. It is supposedly made from shrimp and i can see shrimp pieces in it, but it doesn't taste anything like shrimp. It isn't one of my favorites haha. This week i also tried something else new. I tried balot. Yes, balot. My house mates decided i had been in the Philippines long enough without having tried it haha. It isn't totally disgusting, but it isn't delicious. If you like deviled eggs or hard boiled eggs, you would like balot. It is just a like bit farther along. So that was my food experience this week.
BALOT.....come on Elder, really you let them talk you into eating THAT.....UGH
........ For water we're good because the mission now provides us with water bottles with a filter inside. So we can drink water from almost anywhere. So we are good that way. We have enough filters that it is supposed to last all 2 years. I'm not sure about Celebrating Easter. I had forgotten about that. But i bet we will. They have pretty much all the same holidays here. And Philippinos love to have parties and eat haha. It is awesome. We email from public internet cafes. We aren't allowed to use members computers. So it costs but it is pretty cheap, about 15 pesos for an hour. So it is pretty relativly cheap for us.

The work is still moving along great. We have some amazing investigators. The biggest problem here is getting people to come to church. That is hard for both members and investigators. It is the biggest obstacle for investigators. Thats why they have to come for 4 weeks in a row before baptism. Do any of you have any ideas?

Missionary work is amazing. I am realizing just how much i actually have. We teach some of these people by candle light because they don't have electricity. Having a car is a big deal here. Lots of people live on dollars a day. Yet they are so friendly, and will spend all their money just to buy us a treat, even when we tell them time and time again not to. They are so humble. I have a lot to learn from them.I love you all and hope everything continues to go well for you all.
Mahal ko kayo and God be with you till we meet again." Elder Brough
